How to get to Bukidnon?

From Luzon and Visayas:

  • Take  a  plane or ship bound for Cagayan de Oro City

From Cagayan de Oro City:

  • As soon as you arrive in Cagayan de Oro, take a taxi ride going to the Agora Bus Terminal. It's around half an hour away from the airport. Most taxi drivers opt for the "pakyaw" or "contracted" scheme, since the airport is far from the city proper. Payment is usually P300.00. There are also vans for hire and the fee is usually P500.00. Now if you want to hire either the taxi/cab or van all the way towards Bukidnon, you can arrange for that as well. Most vans charge P1,500.00  from the Cagayan de Oro City airport to Malaybalay City (Bukidnon's capital) proper.
  • If you are on a tight budget, you can wait for a jeep outside the Airport premises and go to SM Mall. Transfer to another jeepney that will pass through Divisoria or Xavier University. From there, ride a jeepney that will take you to the Agora Bus Terminal. Fare ranges from P7-P10.

Once you're at the Agora Bus Terminal, look for the red Rural Transit (RTMI) buses. All buses going to the province of Bukidnon will pass through Malaybalay City. Bus fare from Cagayan de Oro to Malaybalay City is P155.00 (airconditioned bus). Bukidnon's capital, Malaybalay City, is roughly two hours away.

From Davao City: 

  • From the Ecoland Integrated Bus Terminal, look for the red Rural Transmit (RTMI) buses bound for CAGAYAN DE ORO. From Davao City to Malaybalay City,  it will take you roughly five hours via public transportation. Bus fare from Davao City to Malaybalay City is around P450.00 (airconditioned bus).


From Malaybalay City to Kaamulan Grounds (Registration  Area):

  • Once  in Malaybalay City, take a motorela going to  the Kaamulan Grounds. Fare is about P20 (pakyaw) or P6 per head. It is about 5 minutes away from the terminal. 

Modes of Transportation

Transportation methods in the Province of Bukidnon:

  • There are vans or buses that ply 24 hours a day along most of the major areas in the province.
  • Within the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia, multicabs and motorelas are the main methods of transportation. 
  • While there are no taxi cabs that operate within the province of Bukidnon, you may chance upon some. These taxi cabs are usually contracted from Cagayan de Oro and just want to get some passengers while on their way back to the city.
